I am a human-environment geographer who focuses on political institutions and organizations responding to global environmental change, specifically the changing distribution and increasing degradation of water resources. My research interests include water conflict, water cooperation, governance of natural resources, and environmental justice. 

I am currently a Research Scientist II in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability at Colorado State University. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Planning, & Environment and Water Resources Center at East Carolina University. I also served as a Research Analyst at the University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center and as a Ken Alberman Post-Doctoral Fellow in Water, Society, and Politics in the Middle East at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. 

I have published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. I have experience in qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial analysis. 

I earned my Ph.D. in Geography at Oregon State University, with a Certificate of Water Conflict Management and Transformation, my M.S. in Geography at the University of Montana, and my B.S. in Meteorology at Iowa State University.
